Birthplace Video: Novo Amor

Novo Amor latest artist to balance tour emissions with Energy Revolution

Welsh multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer Novo Amor aka Ali Lacey is the latest artist to work with Energy Revolution to record and balance the carbon emissions from his upcoming tour with investment in renewable energy projects.

Novo Amor is set to release his debut album ‘Birthplace’ in Oct 2018, the video for the eponymous title track was unveiled last week on June 14th  featuring a13-meter long model of a whale, which was made from plastic collected by school children, who received books in return for their donations. The stunning video sends a powerful message about the effect humans are having on the natural world; encouraging viewers to appreciate the beauty in the music and the video but also consider how their use of plastic is impacting the planet. The video was shot in Komodo and Bali, Indonesia, with production duo Sil and Jorik and stars renowned freediver Micheal Board as the ‘figure of humanity’.

Novo Amor is continuing his environmental work by collaborating with Julie’s Bicycle,to minimise waste at shows, and Energy Revolution to  limit the environmental impact of his upcoming tour dates by balancing his fuel consumption and Co2 emissions. This “self-applied pollution tax,” as he sees it, will be used to generate clean renewable energy through the projects that we help to support.

“The presence of plastic waste littering our oceans is not a new issue, but it’s an issue that has been worsening for years and is something that we can and should be addressing. The problem is not only a threat to marine life, but to the entire food chain, our whole ecosystem. When something impacts wildlife in such a profound way, we can expect it to impact upon us. The problems are manifold, the repercussions shocking, but there are ways in which we can raise awareness of such an urgent issue, and counter it.” Ali Lacey (Novo Amor)

Energy Revolution for Artists and Agents

Energy Revolution for Artists and Agents

The most significant environmental impact of both events and artist
touring is typically from the greenhouse gases emitted during fossil
fuel based travel. Energy Revolution supports artists to reduce
emissions where possible, and balance unavoidable travel emissions through investment in projects that generate clean renewable energy, and which also have a wealth of positive social impacts.

Individual artists, bands, production teams, touring companies, venues, supply companies and audiences can all calculate the impact of their travel and the donation needed to balance them. Energy Revolution then invests 100% of all balancing donations into renewable energy to create ‘Carbon-Balanced Touring.’

The music and live events industry has huge opportunity to make a create change, with artists’ actions inspiring others to make positive changes. By joining Energy Revolution you become part of a community of change- makers, helping to turn a problem into a solution for future generations.
